Lucia "Lu" Ann Greene's Obituary
Lucia “Lu” Ann Greene, 66, was called up to Heaven on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Lu was born in Berea, Ohio on April 28, 1958 to Emilio S. and Patricia A. Fabrizi.
One of four children, Lu grew up in Valley City and attended Buckeye High School. There, she met the love of her life, David, who she spent forty-three fun and wonderful years with. Lu earned her undergraduate degree from Ashland University and later a Master’s degree from Baldwin Wallace. She dedicated her entire career to supporting children, and impacted the lives of countless students. She retired in 2023 after forty-one years in special education at the Medina County Career Center.
Throughout her life, Lu maintained countless friendships. She never met a stranger, and her infectious personality lit up every room she entered. She loved book club, theater nights, and attending countless get-togethers to celebrate the milestones of loved ones.
Above all, Lu devoted herself to her family. An adoring mother, aunt, and great-aunt, she was everyone’s biggest cheerleader. Lu never vacationed without her husband and children, and together they spent summers boating on Lake Erie and winters on the ski slopes. In 2019, they moved into their dream home on their property in Medina, where Lu enjoyed floating in her lake, tending to her flowers, snuggling with her dogs, and decorating for the holidays. A giver until the very end, Lu chose to donate her organs, and her family prays that her final gift will provide life to someone in need.
Lu was preceded in death by her parents and sister Andrea. She is survived by her husband David; son, Christopher Greene; daughters, Katie Greene and Karli (Ryan Buck) Greene; sister, Maria (Bryan) Fearer; brother, Emilio, Jr. (Tina) Fabrizi; along with several nieces, nephews, and their children. She also leaves behind many individuals who, to simply call them friends, would not capture how much they meant to her.
Family will welcome friends from 3 to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1800 Station Road, Valley City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Cleveland Animal Protective League or the Medina County Career Center Care Closet.
