Lucerne C. Weidig's Obituary
Lucerne C. Weidig, 93, of North Royalton, peacefully passed away on October 13, 2011 at Western Reserve Masonic Community in Medina. She was born on January 16, 1918, to Louis and Lula (Geiss) Pay. A lifetime resident of North Royalton, Lucerne married Robert E. Weidig on September 5, 1941, and celebrated 68 years of marriage before his death in September, 2009. Lucerne was a very active member of North Royalton Baptist Church where she served as secretary for many years. She also worked as a librarian for North Royalton Schools until she retired in 1978. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family in her home and will always be remembered for her gracious hospitality. In addition to her parents and her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Wilson Pay of Hinckley and brothers-in-law Jack Malusky of Hinckley and Raymond Lurtz of Mansfield. She is survived by her three children, Linda English (Daniel) of Brunswick, Ronald Weidig (Joanne) of Brunswick Hills and Robert J. Weidig (Janet) of Medina; five grandchildren, Timothy English of Brunswick, Cheryl Fluxe (Andrew) of Lebanon, OH, Mary Weidig (fiancé Jeremy Horton) of Brunswick Hills, Robert Joseph Weidig of Brunswick Hills, and Heather Weidig of Medina; and two great-grandchildren, Alexa and August Fluxe of Lebanon. She is also survived by her sisters Doris Lurtz of Mansfield and Hazel Malusky of Hinckley, her sister-in-law LaVerne Pay of Hinckley and many loving nieces and nephews. Interment at Ohio National Western Reserve Cemetery, Rittman FRIDAY OCTOBER 21 10:30 am with Memorial Service to follow at North Royalton Baptist Church 12pm.
