Louis "Lou" Pannunzio Jr., aged 84, of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025. Born on October 9, 1940, to the late Louis Pannunzio Sr. and Ruth Pannunzio, Lou grew up alongside his siblings Ruth Pannunzio and Leslie Kowal (Roger), and the late Richard Pannunzio. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Janet Pannunzio (nee Sayre), and a loving father to his sons, Steven Pannunzio and Troy Pannunzio (Kristen). Lou's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren Collin, Owen, Allen, Nicole, Breanna, Brandon, and Corinne, who will remember him for his wisdom, warmth, and the joy he brought into their lives.
Lou's passion for artistic roller skating was not just a hobby but a lifelong commitment that saw him become a revered coach, mentor, and friend to many. His exceptional talent and dedication to the sport led him to coach world and national champions, earning him a well-deserved place in the hall of fame for skating. For over two decades, Lou was the proud owner of Mentor Skateland, where he cultivated a welcoming environment for skaters of all ages and skill levels. His commitment to the sport was unwavering, and he spent the majority of his coaching career at BrookPark Skateland, where he touched the lives of countless individuals. Lou's legacy in the skating world is immeasurable, and his teachings will continue to inspire future generations of skaters.
Beyond the rink, Lou was a man of great character, known for his kindness, humor, and the love he had for his family.
