Lola S. Millhoane's Obituary
Lola S. Millhoane, a cherished matriarch and beacon of joy, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on October 7, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio, to a loving family, Lola lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and her community.
Lola was the beloved wife of the late John B. Millhoane, with whom she shared 34 years of marriage filled with love and laughter. She was a nurturing and loving mother to her daughters, Valerie Hopkins and Vicky Masuga. Also a caring Mother-in-law to Dale, Dan and Bryan Routch(Becky). Lola was also a caring sister to her late siblings Betty, Dan, Steve, Irene, Dave, and Arthur.
Her role as a grandmother was one of the joys of her life. Lola was the cherished grandmother of Jake (Lauren), Chase (Lauren), Kyleen (Joe), Heidi (Keith), Cory (Kelsea), and Kyra (TJ). She also embraced her role as a step-grandmother to Denise, Carmen, Kevin, Amanda (Matt), and Aaron (Kayla). Lola's legacy continued to grow with her great-grandchildren Zander, Adalynn, Piper, Decklynn, Wyatt, Sloane, Lincoln, Luke, Millie, Mila, Audriana, Anastasia, Isabel, Nova, and Patricia, as well as her step-great-grandchildren Lauren, Morgan, Will, Lizzy, Jeremy, Conner, Ellie, Max, Aubrey, Blake, Knox, and Bristol. She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Lola was a proud graduate of West Tech High School, where her unique hobby of collecting buttons earned her the endearing title of "Button Queen." Her passion for collecting was just one of the many ways she expressed her creativity and connected with those around her.
A woman of deep faith, Lola was a dedicated member of the United Church of Christ in Strongsville, Ohio, for over 50 years. Her commitment to her church community was evident in her volunteer work at the UCC's thrift shop and her warm presence as a Sunday morning greeter. Lola's kindness and welcoming smile were a Sunday staple that many looked forward to each week.
In addition to her church activities, Lola was an enthusiastic member of the Red Hat Society. She relished the camaraderie and the vibrant life that the society promoted, participating in its events with the same zest and energy she brought to all her endeavors.
Lola's life was a testament to the power of community, the strength of faith, and the enduring bonds of family. Her legacy is one of love, service, and the countless lives she touched with her generous spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her memory will continue to inspire and guide those she has left behind.

A Memorial Service will be held on SATURDAY APRIL 26, 2025 at 11AM at Strongsville United Church of Christ, 13740 Pearl Road, Strongsville OH 44136. A private burial for the family will be held at Woodvale Cemetery.
