Linda Murray, 80, of Cleveland, OH, passed away on April 21st, 2022, surrounded by her sister Paula Sokolowski and son Joseph John Spagnuolo, and daughter Deborah (Spagnuolo) Krimm.
The visitation will be held on April 29, 2023, at 1:00pm at Jardine’s Funeral Home (15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville, OH), Father Matt Harley of St Ambrose will officiate a short prayer and reading at 2:00pm.
Linda was born in Cleveland OH on June 18th, 1942. She graduated, Sokolowski, from Rhodes High School in 1960 and while there, won the honor of Miss Junior Achievement, As an adult, Linda spent most of her time in Middleburg Heights, Brunswick, and most recently, Parma Heights. Many years of fond memories with extended family and close friends at the family cottage of John Sokolowski and Helen (Mazera) along the Cuyahoga River in Hiram, OH - playing cards, games, cooking, fishing, boating and hanging by the fire pit and picking blueberries from the row of gigantic bushes that lined the drive.
Linda was an amazing, (beyond) meticulous homemaker who loved to spend time with her kids and volunteered at school events. She took great pride in her vegetable garden, working in the yard with flowers and landscaping. Linda was a fabulous cook and made the most amazing meals - a few ‘favorites’ but always up for new recipes from her immense cookbook collection. Linda loved to host dinner parties, family holidays, and outdoor festivities. She also enjoyed laying in the sun, relaxing and tanning. She had a natural talent for interior decorating and an eye for art and photography. Linda took a few photography classes to refine her talent and enjoyed taking pictures of nature, family or when she traveled. She also learned how to develop and print her own photos in a studio lab. Linda spent a few years working with her then husband, Kenneth Murray, at Century 21 Lucien and was also a salesperson in the wedding department at Dillard’s. Later in life she and her friends would dance at Springvale Ballroom in North Olmsted, OH and she enjoyed the ‘Friday Night’ outings.
Linda was a very kind, patient and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched over the years. Linda loved animals and all things nature. She had many cats over the years and consistently fed the birds and squirrels with her mixture of seeds, corn and nuts for probably 60+ years.
Linda is survived by her long-time partner, Peter Fatica, her sisters Paula Sokolowski, Barbara (Sokolowski) Cogan, and her son, Joseph John Spagnuolo, and daughter Deborah (Spagnuolo) Krimm. Linda adored all of her grandchildren: Hailey (Spagnuolo) Maranto, Mikayla (Spagnuolo) Podracky, Joey (Spagnuolo) and Benjamin (Krimm) and Ella (Krimm). And was elated to recently meet her great grandson, Maxwell Maranto. She had a magical way of connecting with kids and making everyone feel welcome and loved.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Alzheimer’s Foundation or a local animal shelter. The family wishes to thank Traditions Hospice for the amazing and peaceful transition for Linda’s life. God Bless Linda xoxo.
