Leslie "Toots" Readinger's Obituary
Leslie Readinger (nee Mroz), affectionately known as "Toots" to those who knew her best, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, in Strongsville, Ohio, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on December 7, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, Leslie's vibrant spirit and boundless energy were evident from the start.
A loving wife of 54 years to Jeff Readinger, Leslie was the cornerstone of her family. She was the beloved mother of Erin Konet (Mike), Laurel Readinger (Brad), and Jill Fick (Kris). Her role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, nurturing her children with love, wisdom, and an infectious zest for life that they will carry with them always.
Leslie was the proud daughter of the late Alfred and Hilda Mroz and a caring sister to Michael Mroz (Lisa). She also shared a special bond with her in-laws, Mark Readinger (Sue Ellen), Mary Beth Greene (Jon), Suellen Hoecker (Mike), and Paul Readinger, as well as being a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Her family was her pride and joy, and she dedicated herself to creating a warm and welcoming home for all.
Her role as a grandmother was perhaps the one she reveled in most. Leslie was an adoring grandmother to Aidan, Leigh, Jake, Brendan, and Cailyn. Each of them was her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was sharing stories, playing games, or simply being present for the milestones in their lives.
Leslie's interests and passions were as varied as they were fulfilling. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, exploring new places, and creating memories that would last a lifetime. Her commitment to her community was evident through her volunteer work at the MS Foundation, the Buckeye Chapter, where she dedicated her time and energy to help others.
Not one to shy away from competition, Leslie was on a bowling league for years, loved playing cards on family game night and was the reigning fantasy football champion, a title she held with pride and a testament to her strategic mind and playful spirit. Her enthusiasm for the game was infectious, and her family and friends will fondly remember the excitement and joy she brought to every season.
Leslie's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring strength of family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to know her.
