Kurt William Shinners' Obituary
Kurt William Shinners, 60, of Strongsville, Ohio, passed away on June 30, 2025. Born in Toledo, Ohio, Kurt lived a life filled with deep friendships, shared adventures, and a bright spirit.
He was the kind of person who could walk into a room full of strangers and leave with a group of friends. Confident, outgoing, and endlessly charismatic, Kurt had a magnetic personality that drew people in.
Kurt’s interests were as bold and varied as he was. He had a deep love for art, reading, history, video games, martial arts, bodybuilding, writing, fantasy, and science fiction. He was always up for an adventure, whether it was physical, intellectual, or creative. He lived with intensity and enthusiasm, throwing himself into whatever caught his interest, and making everything he did feel exciting.
His life was filled with unforgettable moments—the kind that turned into legendary stories, and that will be retold with laughter and love for years to come.
Kurt is survived by his wife, Karen; his daughter, Marissa; his son, Alek; and his siblings, Valerie Lein, Debra Diaz, and Michael Shinners. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Ralph Shinners and Marcia Leon Shinners.
