Kenneth "Ken" J. Mraz's Obituary
Kenneth J. Mraz, age 94 of Strongsville, passed away on March 10, 2026.
Ken was born on June 28, 1931, in Manitowoc, WI to Jacob J. and Margaret E. (Ellerman) Mraz. He was married to Carole Mraz for 25 years until her passing in 2013.
Ken was a warm, kind, caring individual who loved people. His smile and laugh would light up a room. Ken was civic-minded and cared deeply about his community, especially its children. He was a former president and vice president of the Strongsville Kiwanis Club. The flags that are up and flying at the Strongsville Commons, called “the Flag Project,” were Ken’s idea. He was involved in his community, as well as his parish home, St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.
Ken is survived by his children: Charles (Joan) Mraz, James (Renee) Mraz, Colleen O’Malley, Bryan O’Malley, and Noreen O’Malley; grandchildren: Elizabeth (Kevin) Hamm, Megan (Kyle) Mann, Jacob Mraz, Lauren (Nicole) Dittrich, Kelly (Jason) Kerr, Danielle (Cameron) Coyne, Alexa Ballow, and Ella O’Malley; and great-grandchildren: Emma Hamm, Julian Mann, McKinley Mraz, Amelia Mraz, Evan Mraz, Hailey Kerr, and Rylee Kerr. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and all those special friends he made at Vitalia, many of whom called him “The Mayor”
Ken was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carole; and his parents, Jacob and Margaret Mraz.
Ken’s family will greet friends on Monday, March 16, 2026 from 9:30-10:00 AM at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church on Bagley Road. A funeral mass will begin at 10 AM at the church. A private burial will take place with his family, where he will be interred with his wife at Holy Cross Cemetery.
