Kenneth Davis' Obituary
Kenneth Davis, 82, of Strongsville, OH passed away at Cardinal Court Memory Care on June 20, 2023.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, Wilton and Dorothy Davis, and his first wife Jean.
He is survived by his two sisters, Diedre Silvestri (Brent), and Peggy Hurtt (Sam); his loving wife Alexa; his three children, Michelle (Mike), Jeffery (Maya), and Matthew (Kara); and his three grandchildren, Gage, McKayla, and Zane.
Born in New Orleans, Ken moved to Chicago and eventually Massillon, Ohio, where he attended Canton Central Catholic High School. In 1963, after graduating from John Carrol University with a Bachelor’s degree in science, Ken joined the United States Marine Corps as a Second Lieutenant. He attended The Basics School at Quantico from July–December 1963.
Ken served his country for four years, most notably participating in Operation Steel Pike, the largest peacetime amphibious landing exercise in history. He was transferred to the Marine Corps Reservists in July 1967 at the rank of Captain.
Ken then went on to work for General Tire, Penske Racing, and National City Bank, where he met his wife Alexa. They married in 1986 and moved into their home in Strongsville, where they spent 37 years together. After 25 years with National City Bank, Ken retired as Vice President, Corporate Operations and Information Services Division.
Ken loved golfing, The Ohio State University Football Team, and the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. He will always be fondly remembered for his exceptional leadership, witty comments, and loveable personality.
Our family is grateful to know that Ken is finally at peace.
Visitation will be held 4–8 p.m., Monday, June 26 at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Road, Cleveland, OH 44136. A mass will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 27 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 25801 Royalton Road, Columbia Station, OH 44028.
Ken will be laid to rest at 12:15 p.m., June 27 at Western Reserve National Cemetery.
