Kathryn "Kate" Martell Rose's Obituary
Kathryn Martell “Kate” Rose (née Martell), age 49, passed away on October 8, 2025 surrounded by her family and friends.
Kate was the beloved wife of Cameron Rose for 23 years, and a devoted mother to Michael William, Myla Elizabeth, and Benjamin Robert Rose. She was the cherished daughter of Michael “Mike” and Kathleen “Kathy” Martell, and a loving sister to Gary (Chris) Martell. Kate was also a proud aunt to two nieces and two nephews.
She shared a special bond with her loyal beagle, Charlotte “Charlie”, who was never far from her side.
A graduate of Medina High School in 1994, Kate went on to earn her B.S. in Marketing with a minor in Gerontology at Miami University in 1998, before earning a master’s degree in Social Work from Cleveland State University.
Kate had a deep love for serving the elderly, spending much of her career in nursing homes, home health care, and hospice, where her compassion touched countless lives. She also found great joy in sharing active moments with her closest friends through triathlons, running, biking, swimming and paddleboarding on Lake Medina, and cross-country skiing.
Deeply involved in her children’s lives and always giving her time and heart to her family and community, Kate served over the years as a classroom volunteer, recess monitor, summer swim team president, CYO track coach, and member of the Strongsville Early Childhood PTA Board.
