Karen Jane Leslie, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, in Strongsville, Ohio, at the age of 86. Born on July 4, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, Karen's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and the joy she brought to those around her.
Karen's journey through life was marked by her deep devotion to her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Earl Griffin for 26 years and the late Mike Leslie for 28 years. Her legacy as a loving mother is carried on by her children, Catherine Rosenthal (Bruce), Patricia Choe (Sae), the late William Griffin (Sue, surviving), Mary Margaret Dickinson (Rob, deceased), Theresa Sharmaa (Sherif), Tony Leslie, and Matthew Leslie (Renee). Karen's warmth and wisdom touched the lives of her grandchildren, Bryan (Theresee), Sarah (Josh), Stephen (Gwen), Ashley(Matt), Morgan (Donnu), Sydney (Matthew), Dylan, Riley, Kevin (Laura), Benjamin (Whitni), Brianna (Christopher), Mary Catherine (Decker), Adelaid (Zachary), Emma (Adhir), Fatima (Sean), Omar (Devynn), Noah, LeaEllen (Hayden), Luke, Gracie, Paul, and Haley. Her great-grandchildren, Sophie, Verity, Esme, Bryce, Austin, Teagan, Vure, Griffin, Payton, Benson, Sutton, Remington, Charleigh, Eloise, Maggie, and Nora, will miss her enchanting stories and tender embraces. Karen was the loving sister of the late Arthur Thomas (Alice;surviving) and sister-in-law of James Griffin (Sandy), Margaret Laskey (Bob;deceased), and the late Mary Ellen and Joan. Karen was also a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Professionally, Karen dedicated her life to nurturing others as a registered nurse, primarily serving in the OB department. Her gentle touch and compassionate nature were a comfort to countless families as they welcomed new life into the world. Karen's commitment to her vocation was evident in the care she provided and the respect she earned from her colleagues and patients alike.
Beyond her professional and family life, Karen had a zest for life's simple pleasures. She relished moments spent with her family, whether it was an afternoon of reading, a day out boating on the lake, or a shopping trip in search of the perfect gift for a loved one. Her interests were a reflection of her love for life and the joy she found in the company of others.
Karen's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of love, service, and joy that will be cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
ALL SERVICES WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2025. VISITATION will be held WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2025 from 9:30AM-11AM at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 PEARL RD, Strongsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held WEDNESDAY at 11:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Strongsville. Interment All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
