He shared 48 cherished years of marriage with his wife, Maureen, and together they built a family rooted in love, loyalty, and lasting memories. He was also a loving brother to Bobbi(late), David, Jerome, Becky, Billy and Jeanne’. The bond he shared with his siblings remained an important part of his life, and he carried those relationships with him always. Joe was a proud grandfather to MikHayla, Jamarian, Madison, McKenzie, Mallory, Elyssa, Connor, Michael, and Abigail, and he delighted in watching each of them grow. He was also blessed to welcome great-grandchildren Maven and Emery, who added even more joy to his family circle. Joe lived with a genuine appreciation for the simple pleasures in life.
He loved sports and followed the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers with enthusiasm and loyalty. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially mowing his lawn on his riding lawnmower, a task he took pride in and found satisfaction in doing well. He also enjoyed playing golf, softball, and bowling, activities that reflected both his competitive spirit and his enjoyment of being with others. For many years, Joe served as a swim instructor at the YMCA in Elyria, where he shared his time and knowledge with others in a role that reflected his patience and care. In addition to his many talents and interests, Joe was an artist who loved to draw for himself and for his family.
