John Wallencheck's Obituary
John Wallencheck, 95, passed away on September 21st, 2022 at Southwest General Hospital.
He was born on June 3rd, 1927 to the late John Wallencheck and Helen (nee Yankura) Wallencheck Wyda in Masontown, Pennsylvania.
John joined the Navy in April of 1945, and was Honorably Discharged in 1947.
He married Beverly Wentz on September 11th, 1965. They had been married for 30 years before her passing in 1995.
John was an award-winning amateur photographer. He had a passion for reading, traveling, music, and history. Professionally, he was an accountant and accounts payable manager.
He is survived by his children Carole Wallencheck and Elizabeth (Raymond) Wallencheck, from his prior marriage to Loretta (nee DiOrio), now deceased, and John (Mary) Wallencheck; grandchildren Kevin Zellmann, Jordan Wallencheck, and Logan Wallencheck.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his daughter Laura Wallencheck (daughter of Loretta); and siblings George Wallencheck, and Edward Wallencheck.
VISITATION will be held on THURSDAY, September 29th, 2022 from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held on FRIDAY, September 30th, 2022, at 11 a.m. also at Jardine’s. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Brook Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Autism Society of Greater Cleveland, Milestone Autism Resources, or the American Legion in Berea.
