As a fellow "out-law" of which Joe was King "out-law"....I will really miss him. It is somewhat cliche to say "he lived life to the fullest" but in this case it fits well. He embraced what he loved, family, fishing, golf, hunting, cooking, and even work. I'll always remember him telling me he is doing what he loved, he always wanted to play in the dirt. He was a master magician with those machines. He let me use his boat even though I only knew his sister in law at the time for a month. I always felt bad about the dock rash we gave the boat but he never made me feel bad. I laughed at his stories and laughed when he danced with his daughters on stage. I will never forget going goose hunting with him and Champ, Joe shot one and Champ carried the goose out of the marsh. It was a great sight we shared. I'll always laugh at his "out of his shoes" golf swing, how he could score so well only God knows. I'm glad he was in Palm Springs with us just a few months back. Joe was street smart and common sense smart with terrific insight and foresight. Joe had some fanciful views of life and he had his challenges, but he did live life in a Big, big Joe way. Whenever I see a white haired, goateed man I will think of him. And now I learn that a Cardinal bird has been visiting the house and that maybe, just maybe, Joe is flying about as a Cardinal. Seems appropriately regal and whimsical.....When I see one, I will think of him....you should too... I love you bro in law, I'll miss you! Dave##imported-begin##Dave Vieregg##imported-end##
