Jody Lee Grebenc's Obituary
Jody Lee Grebenc (nee McHenry) entered into eternity on May 9th after a 3 year battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents Powell and Venna (nee Guerrea) McHenry, as well as her brother Scott McHenry (Patricia). She was the cherished wife of John Grebenc for 38 years. She leaves behind her sister Gale McLaughlin (John), brother Marshall McHenry (Joyce) and her sister in laws Bobbi Grebenc (Frank) and Pat Grebenc (Joe). She lived for her 3 children: Mary Barnes (Ryan), John Grebenc (Kim) and Bob Grebenc. Jody cherished the time she spent with her first grandchild, Micah, and was excited to learn her first granddaughter will arrive this Fall. Jody was the proud Aunt of: Lauren Greenwood (Jeff), Barb Brown (Westfield), Joe McHenry, Dr. Zach McHenry, Christine McLaughlin, Colleen McHenry (Tony), Tricia McLaughlin, Scott McLaughlin, Dan VanVerth and Adam Grebenc. She adored her great nephews: Cade Greenwood, Remington Greenwood, Whitten Brown and Stellan Greenwood and delighted in the fact she will have a great niece born this summer. Jody leaves behind countless cherished cousins, aunts, uncles and lifelong friends. Jody grew up on the West Side of Cincinnati, attending Western Hills High School, where she was Homecoming Queen in 1975. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ohio University where she met the love of her life, John, whom she married in 1983. They moved to Strongsville in 1987, where they reside currently. Jody was a member of Christ Church in Columbia Station, where she served on numerous committees and where she learned her passion for volunteering. Jody had many organizations she volunteered for and supported through charity including: Seeds of Literacy, St Judes Hospital and The MetroHealth Foundation, amongst many others. She spent multiple days per week volunteering at 2100 Men's Shelter, which she found to be her real calling and her way to serve the Lord. In addition, Jody spent countless hours tutoring youth at Joshua & Caleb Leadership Center. Jody's kind, generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Her zest for life and humor will live on through all those whose lives she touched. VISITATION FRIDAY MAY 21, 2021 4-7PM at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 PEARL RD, STRONGSVILLE. A Memorial Service will be held on SATURDAY MAY 22, 2021 at 2PM with visitation one-hour prior until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St Judes Hospital.
