Joan Tidd's Obituary
Joan Tidd passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, in Strongsville, OH, at the age of 77. Born on October 26, 1947, in Erie, PA, to the late Giggs and May Laughery, Joan's life was woven with love, community service, and a passion for the arts.
Joan's spirit was matched by her intellect and her unwavering commitment to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Tidd. Together, they shared a love that was evident to all who knew them, traveling the world and cherishing every shared moment. Joan's legacy lives on through her children, Kevin (Kristi) Tidd and Jeffrey Tidd, and her cherished grandson, Will, who brought immense joy to her later years.
Throughout her life, Joan was deeply involved in her community. She served as a former PTA president for Strongsville City Schools, where she advocated for educational excellence and the well-being of all students. Her dedication to service extended to her involvement with the P.E.O. Foundation, where she supported women's education and empowerment.
Joan's interests were as diverse as they were rich. She had an enduring love for the arts, frequently attending performances of the Cleveland Orchestra and immersing herself in the magic of theatre. Her own artistic talents shone through in her piano playing. An outgoing and people-oriented individual, Joan had the rare ability to make friends wherever she went.
Sports played a significant role in Joan's life, not as a participant but as an dedicated supporter, especially when it came to the youth sports of her sons and grandson. She was their biggest fan, cheering from the sidelines.
