Joan M. Javorsky's Obituary
Joan M. Javorsky, a cherished soul known for her warmth and loving nature, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on February 19, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, Joan was the daughter of the late Frank Bennett and Sophie Macek. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew Javorsky and a devoted mother to her children, John David Horvath and Karen (Ron) Spence.
Joan's life was marked by her enduring love for her family. She was a sister to Barbara Bennett, and a grandmother whose heart was filled with joy for her grandchildren, the late Jacob Spence and Joseph Riley Spence. Her family was her pride, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
A woman of many talents, Joan had a passion for the intricate arts of crochet and needlepoint, creating countless pieces that will be treasured by her family for generations. Her hands were rarely still, as she wove love into every stitch. Joan also found great pleasure in the timeless beauty of old movies which she loved to watch.
Above all, Joan adored her grandsons. They were the light of her life, and she reveled in their accomplishments and adventures. The loss of her grandson Jacob was a profound sorrow for Joan, but her family takes solace in knowing that she is now reunited with him. They imagine Joan and Jacob, together again, their spirits free and at peace.
Joan's legacy is one of love, kindness, and the gentle strength that she demonstrated throughout her life. She faced the world with a smile that could light up the darkest room and a heart that was generous and forgiving. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories told and the memories shared by those who loved her.
A Memorial Gathering will be held FRIDAY, MARCH 20, 2026 from 6PM-8PM at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 PEARL RD, STRONGSVILLE. A Memorial Mass will be held SATURDAY, MARCH 21, 2026 at 11:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12700 Pearl Road, Strongsville, OH 44136. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park, Ohio immediately following the mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berea Animal Rescue, 10015 E River Rd, Columbia Station, OH 44028.
