Janice L Weber's Obituary
Janice L. Weber, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024, in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, where she was also born on April 30, 1943. Her life was a testament to love, care, and the joy of family, leaving behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
Janice's journey began as a bright-eyed girl in Cleveland, where she grew up with her loving sister, Judy. She graduated from Parma High School in 1961, showing early on her dedication to helping others by pursuing a career in nursing. Janice's nurturing spirit led her to the Parma Practical Nursing School, where she honed her skills to serve her community.
Her heart found its match when she married the love of her life, Ralph "Mickey" Weber, on May 25, 1963. Their union was a beautiful example of commitment and love, lasting 22 years until Mickey's untimely passing on April 27, 1985. Together, they raised a family that became Janice's pride and joy: sons Ralph Jr., Kenneth and his wife Laura, Stephen and his wife Tracie, and daughter Julie and her husband Bernie Rutkowski. Her sister, Judy, and brother-in-law, Bob Koepke, shared in the family's milestones and supported Janice through the years.
Professionally, Janice was a respected Licensed Practical Nurse at MetroHealth in the surgical department. Her caring hands and compassionate heart touched the lives of countless patients until her retirement in 2003. Even after retiring, her passion for nursing couldn't keep her away, and she returned to work on a PRN basis, continuing to make a difference in the lives of those she cared for.
Janice's life outside of work was filled with the simple pleasures she cherished. She was an avid reader, with a particular fondness for mysteries that kept her mind engaged and entertained. Music brought joy to her soul, especially the tunes of Elvis and Neil Diamond. Camping trips provided a backdrop for family bonding and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Above all, Janice's world revolved around her beloved grandchildren: Nick, Donny and his wife Krystina, Patrick, Melissa, James, Karalyn, Andy, and Alyssa. She reveled in their accomplishments and celebrated each milestone with enthusiasm. Her great-grandchildren, Lylah and Amelia, added even more joy to her life, and she showered them with love and affection.
VISITATION will be held on SATURDAY, July 6th from 12pm-1pm with a MEMORIAL SERVICE beginning at 1pm at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
