Janet Bartholomew's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Bartholomew (née Seifert), who peacefully left this world on May 23, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on October 14, 1939, Janet spent her life inspiring others with her lively spirit and generous heart.
Beloved wife of the late James (Jim) Bartholomew, Janet and Jim shared a loving marriage of over 60 years, beginning in 1960. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Lynne and the late Catherine (Kenneth). Janet was cherished by her grandchildren, Jessica (Maximillian), Hannah (James), and George (Evan), who remember her unwavering support and boundless wisdom.
A dedicated homemaker, Janet created a warm and loving home for her family. Her passion for sewing and crafting was evident in the many thoughtful gifts she made, including beautiful decorations and cozy baby blankets for her grandchildren. Beyond her family, Janet was an avid birdwatcher with an impressive breadth of general knowledge, always ready to share her insights and perspectives.
Her deep faith was a cornerstone of her life. A devoted Roman Catholic, she found strength and comfort in her faith and community.
Janet was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Ruth Seifert (Miller), and her brothers, Thomas (Barbara) and David. She is survived by her brother, Russell (Nancy).
As we say farewell to Janet, we celebrate a life rich in love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville, Ohio 44136, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday at 10am at Jardine Funeral Home, concluding with a burial at All Saints Cemetery, 480 West Highland Road, Northfield, OH 44067. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet's memory may be made to the Cleveland Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
