Jan A. Sobolewski's Obituary
Jan A. Sobolewski passed away peacefully on December 16, 2020 at the age of 76. Jan was born on December 21, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio to Stanley and Helen (nee Drabek). Jan graciously served our country in the Army in Korean during the Vietnam War. He was a very kind and generous person who was known for telling lots of stories. He spent his life working in foundries which led him to become a very handy man who could fix just about anything. He enjoyed singing and playing the organ for the church choir. His sons and grandson are very fond of the memories they shared with him when he coached their baseball and football teams. Jan will be sorely missed but we know he will be keeping busy washing cars and mowing the grass in Heaven twice a week.
Jan is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda Sobolewski (nee Kortan) of Brunswick, OH. His life will forever be remembered in the hearts of his 3 children: his son John Sobolewski, daughter-in-law Jennifer and their children August and Ian; Keith Sobolewski, daughter-in-law MaryBeth and their children Melanie, Ryan, Ashlee, Lauren, Ryan and Hailey; and his daughter Sandra, son-in-law Terry and their children Coby, Tommy and Henry.
As per Jan’s wishes, there is no formal funeral scheduled. Immediate family will gather for a small ceremony in his honor. We would like to invite you to share your memories of Jan. You can send pictures, letters or short videos and we will use them to make a memorial video to share. You can email them to [email protected]. You can also send them via regular mail to 18079 Clare Court, Strongsville, OH 44149.
