I just ran across his obituary and want to express my sympathies to Jim’s family. Jim and I were good buddies during our last two years of high school. I was also fond of his family especially his sister Joan who was very kind to me during a difficult time. I would love to hear from her or any of his children or grandchildren. Jim and Peggy are godparents to our daughter Kerry. We had christening in Lexington, Ky many years ago, My husband, Chuck, and Jim met initially at work and became close friends. Somehow we lost touch over the years.
Then for some reason Jim and Peggy came into my mind this week and I went on facebook to see if I could find them...sadly I found this obit. God bless Jim and Peggy.

Our deepest sympathy goes to each of you in the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. We fondly remember Jim's numerous trips to the barn to watch his girls - Peggy, Chris and Cheri - ride their horses. Jack always enjoyed sharing a beer with Jim as they watched the girls ride in the arena. He mentioned many times how proud he was of his daughters and how nervous he was watching Peggy ride! He was equally proud of his four grandsons and their accomplishments. We were always so impressed by what a family man Jim was and how involved he was with the day to day lives of his children and their families. Peace be with all of you during this time of grief and know that he rest in peace with God.

Jim, and I shared an apartment while we attended Xavier University. In the last couple months I was able to visit Jim at home. We spent our time together talking about our crazy times during those years which included our time in the Marine Corps. (we were in the same unit). Our visits were full of a lot of laugher as Jim never lost his "sense of humor". We were friends for 59 years, and even through miles apart always had each others back. I will miss our talks my friend. We will have those talks again. Dutch Schultz
I had the honor to meet Jim and play golf and become friends over his last 15 or so years at his beloved Firestone Country Club -- only a very small part of his experience there.
I can say is it was NOT long enough - HE made a profound impact with his positive attitude about life paired and his competitive nature AND that made him a true "once-in-a-life-time" kind of person!
He was a very class gentleman with just enough "grit" to make guys want to be like him!
