James (Jim) John Rademaker, 68, peacefully passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Jim is survived by his devoted and beloved wife of 38 years, Carmen (nee Del Valle), and loving children, Kelly Ca Read Obituary

Jim was a great man and a fantastic teacher. He was my inspiration to become a social studies teacher and when I did he expressed his pride for me. He also told me it would be an honor for me to replace him when I retired. I visited him when on leave from the army always. I will miss him dearly. I was proud to work with him while I substituted in North Royalton High School. I was proud to call him a mentor , a colleague and a friend. Rest in peace Mr Rademaker.
There are so many beautiful memories written here. It shows how many people Jim influenced in his life. There are so many people whose lives are better for having known him. I consider myself very lucky to be one of those people. Jim was a mentor to me as my department chair in my first years of teaching. I will never forget his advice and the lessons he taught me. I am a better teacher and person because of him. My heart goes out to his beautiful wife Carmen, who I also had the pleasure of knowing and I am especially thankful for Jim and Carmen making visits to our home when they were in Florida. My condolences to Carmen and your children and the whole family. Jim will be greatly missed but his spirit will live on in those of us whose lives he touched.
I just heard the sad news of Jimmy passing and I wanted to send my deepest sympathy and condolences to the Rademaker family! I first met Jimmy I think-in the 7th grade. From that point it seemed that a few of us hung together all through jr high and high school. I had the pleasure to work on the ball diamonds with Jimmy every summer. He could be a character at times but it was all good. Many a nights hanging out in the summer and usually the same gang ended up late at Pizza King in Berea for a late night snack. I read how well respected he was as a teacher and coach; but us guys saw that when we were in school. He was special and had a great disposition much like his dad. We played softball together every summer and had a great time. Sitting down to write this note made me think of a lot of good times and it brings a smile to me knowing that Jimmy made these memories so good. I know he will be missed and I regret not staying in touch after leaving Strongsville. He was a good man! Rest In Peace

To the family of Jimmy Rademaker I want to extend my deepest condolences. I knew Jimmy for over 60 years from our days playing Little League baseball. From jr. high through high school and college we developed a special friendship that I am forever grateful. Our years working together with the Strongsville Recreation Department were some of the BEST days ever, The summers playing softball were equally special. Those days are long gone, but the time we had still bring a smile to my face and a good hearty laugh. The years may pass, but never our friendship. It was a pleasure and honor to have Jimmy as my best man when I was married and I was equally delighted to be included in his wedding party a few years later. Rest in peace buddy till we meet again.
To all the Rademakers, especially Dan (Boonie) and Kenny that I knew, so, so sorry to hear about Jimmy. What good times we had those few summers in the mid 70's, taking care of the ball fields and any other summer projects the City of Strongsville had for us. And the very competitive softball games against the Police Dept, Jimmy lining rope after rope to right field with that sweet lefty swing. What a voice he had, and the belly laugh that rolled and made you laugh even harder when around him. Thanks for the memories Jimmy Rad!

Mr. Rademaker was one of my favorite teachers. He spoke with such conviction about the topics we covered. His passion for history was evident. History is something that fascinates me, and he was a big part of that. I always enjoyed his classes and speaking with him afterward. My prayers are with all his loved ones.

I grew up in Strongsville and everyone knew the Rademaker name. As a young kid I used to watch all the varsity sports. I knew the Rademaker boys before they knew me. Jim and Dan were some of the high school players that coached youth sports. Jim's father was the Athletic Director at SHS. He recommended Southeast Missouri State U as a place to continue playing football. So I followed all of the Rademaker families footsteps and attended the same university that they did. Years later Dan (Boonie) found me and told me Jim was looking for a football coach. The rest is history. Jim spoke up for me and I was hired. I have a great deal of admiration and respect for Jim. He truly was a mentor to me. I am blessed to be a part of Jim's life. He took me under his wing and made my journey so much easier. To say the least Jim's passing is one of the saddest events of my life. Rest In Peace my friend. My prayers go out to the entire Rademaker family
Mr. Rademaker was my favorite teachers in high school. My two oldest children also had the honor of having Mr. Rademaker as their American History teacher and he still remembered me when I came to Open House! My heart breaks for all of you. May you find comfort in the beautiful memories you have shared.
