Ann Cantrell
I am Jack's daughter-in-law, Ann. We miss dad so very very much. He was always ready to help us in any way he could. He was our uber to and from the airport when we would go on vacations. He also took care of our cat and our two birds. As my birds were getting older, I was concerned about them passing while we were on vacation. So I had written instructions of what to do if that should happen. Dad was instructed to wrap the bird in a paper towel. Place the bird in a ziploc baggie. Put them in a small box (I had everything layed out on the bed). And put them in the freezer. That way I could take care of the bird when we returned home. When dad got home after seeing my instructions. He told Alice what I had wanted him to do if one of my birds passed. He told her that I supplied little coffins in case one or both birds passed. He was laughing so hard telling Alice the story.
We had lots of laughs with dad. Especially when the four of us (his late wife, Alice) would get together to play 500 Rummy. It was always an evening of laughter.
Dad enjoyed weenie roasts. We would try to have at least one a year. We were at Bonnie Park for one of weenie roast. We were having a hard time getting the charcoal lit. So dad decided to go home and get some lighter fluid. He got about half way to his car. All of a sudden the grill looked like an inferno. So we start yelling for him to come back.
The look on his face when he turned around and saw the whole grill in big flames was absolutely priceless.😂 We still laugh today when we think about it.
Dad was a wonderful, decent man. He lived a good long life.
We will always hold him close to our hearts. We love and miss you Dad.😢😢 R.I.P.
