Henry "Hank" Haller's Obituary
Henry (“Hank”) Haller, age 87, died peacefully on November 26, 2022. Beloved husband of 65 years to Maryanne D. Haller (nee Reinhold), son of the late Henry and Katherine; brother of the late Dorothy Stoll (Elmer deceased); father of Hillary D. Haller (deceased), Henry W. Haller (Tina Buhl-Haller), Peter C. Haller (Beth Jones), and Conrad F. Haller (Maryanne); cherished grandfather of Angela (Chris Hillen) and Alyssa Tombazzi, Samantha Stephenson, and Katherine, Kelly and Kevin Haller; uncle of Eric Stoll (Tina) and Lee Stoll.
Hank was born on July 4, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from West Tech High School in 1953 and from Case Institute of Technology in 1957 with a B.S.M.E. and a Masters in Aerospace Engineering in 1960. He worked at NASA and the US Dept of Defense for many years. Hank also wrote music and played the accordion. His band, the Hank Haller Ensemble, entertained at festivals and clubs, recorded numerous albums, and appeared regularly on the tv show Polka Varieties. Hank also organized polka cruises and received a Grammy nomination. Hank received the Lifetime Achievement Award when he was inducted into the National Cleveland Style Polka Hall of Fame in 2000.
A memorial visitation to celebrate his life will be held on Friday December 2 2022 from 2-5 pm, with a memorial service to begin at 5:00 pm, at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Road Strongsville, OH 44136.
