With a heart full of cherished memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Hedy Hasz (nee Molnar), a beacon of strength and love, on September 3, 2024, in Cleveland, Ohio. Born on November 20, 1935, in Budapest, Hungary, Hedy's journey was one marked by resilience, grace, and the enduring love of family.
Hedy was the beloved wife of the late Leslie Hasz, with whom she shared 24 years of unwavering companionship until his passing in 1979. She was a devoted mother to Adrienne Veverka (partner to Bill Cashmir) and Greg Hasz (married to Salli). Her role as a mother was one she cherished deeply and performed with the utmost dedication and care. Hedy's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren Lindsay, Dennis Joseph II, Amanda, Samantha, David, and Stephanie, and she was blessed to see her family expand with the arrival of her great-grandchildren Lillian, Zeke, Ezzie, Carson, Madison, Jack, Max, and Zoey.
Daughter of the late Janos and Rozacia Molnar, Hedy's early life in Budapest laid the foundation for her strong-willed and outspoken nature. Her spirit was characterized by a remarkable attention to detail and thoughtfulness, attributes that she carried into all aspects of her life. Hedy's penchant for perfection and order brought a unique sense of harmony to both her home and the lives of those she touched.
Hedy's love for the written word was insatiable; she was an avid reader who found joy and solace in the pages of countless books. Her love for literature was a testament to her pursuit of knowledge and her appreciation for the simple pleasures of life.
Her children will remember Hedy as the "best mom ever," a title she earned every day through her unwavering support, her wise counsel, and her boundless love. Her presence was a gift, and her memory is a treasure that will continue to inspire and guide us.
A private burial service for the family will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park, Ohio
