Harry Lossing's Obituary
Harry Duval Lossing, age 89, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He lived a full and vibrant life, marked by deep affection for his family and a passion for the community that he served with dedication.
Harry's love story with his beloved wife, Beverly Lou, was one for the ages, spanning an incredible 69 years of marriage. Together they built a life filled with joy, challenges overcome, and countless cherished memories.
A devoted father, Harry was immensely proud of his daughter Rachel Turner and her husband Wayne. He found great joy in his role as a grandfather to Tyson Turner and his wife Jennifer of Crestview, Florida; Adam Turner and his wife Tiffany of Louisville, Kentucky; Hunter Turner and his wife XinXin of Toledo, Ohio; and Heidi Cole and her husband Nick of Parma Heights, Ohio. He was predeceased by his grandson Hans Turner of Strongsville, Ohio, who had cared for his grandparents greatly. Harry's grandchildren and great grandchildren will miss him always poking them with his cane.
Born to the late Harold Lossing and Marie Duval Knapp, Harry grew up in Kitchner and Toronto, Ontario. He was predeceased by his brother Donald Lossing of Moosup, Connecticut, and is preceded in death by stepsisters Marilyn Selkirk and Norma Ridgeway of Ontario, Canada.
Harry loved public school work in Kansas City, Missouri and being a principal. Grade school ages were his favorite. After retiring at 52, Harry moved to Owasso, Oklahoma and enjoyed working at a McDonald’s for 16 years. This is the job he loved the most.
Harry was a believer in Jesus Christ and loved God. He talked often of being ready to go to heaven, as his hope was in the mercy of Christ. He spoke of praying for each member of his family each day.
ALL SERVICES TO HONOR THE LIFE OF HARRY DUVAL LOSSING WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY FEBRUARY 13TH, 2025. Friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at Jardine Funeral Home 15822 Pearl Road Strongsville. A funeral service will follow at 1:30pm at the funeral home, where loved ones will have the opportunity to share memories and celebrate Harry's life. The service will conclude with interment at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, where Harry will be laid to rest.
Harry's life was a testament to the power of love and family. His memory will be treasured and his presence deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in the knowledge that his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and the many lives he touched.
