Gretchen Marie Kvasager's Obituary
We have another angel in heaven, Gretchen Marie Kvasager, born July 25, 1947 and died unexpectedly on September 2, 2023. Loving wife to Roger Kvasager, mother to Jasmyn Thomas, and Granny to Alexa Mae Thomas and Braden Thomas Jr. Stepmother of Eric Kvasager (Dianna), Curt Kvasager (Melissa), Brittany Vann (Louis) and Grandma of Austin, Addison, Kiera and Evan. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Ignatius and Natalie Mae Fink; and brother, Dick Lee (Cindy; surviving). Dear sister of Alan Fink (Karen) and Nancy Berton (Morris). Aunt to Christopher Fink, Richie Lee, and Jack Lee (Rebecca). “Mommy” to Blue, her beloved rescue dog.
She was an avid downhill skier, golfer, bowler, and an avid Michigan fan. Gretchen was an active member with the Strongsville VFW Post 3345. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Gretchen traveled with her best friend, Roger extensively throughout the U.S. in their motorhome. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will take place during The University of Michigan football game on SATURDAY, October 14, 2023 at the Strongsville VFW Post 3345, 17900 Strongsville Blvd., Strongsville, OH 44149. Interment will take place at Maple Shade Cemetery in Independence, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Strongsville VFW Post 3345, 17900 Strongsville Blvd., Strongsville, OH 44149. While the family prefers a donation to be made in Gretchen’s honor, if you would like to send flowers, please make sure they are in her favorite team’s colors, maize and blue!
