Gerald Thomas Shumaker's Obituary
Gerald Thomas Shumaker, age 79, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024.
He was born on October 20, 1944, to the late Gerald and M. Monica (nee Krafcik) Shumaker,
in Elyria, Ohio.
Tom married Nancy (Schwab) Shumaker in 1968. They have been married for 55 years.
He enjoyed many things in life including Formula 1 Racing, especially the Indy 500,
NASCAR, and attending auctions. He owned several rental properties. Tom cherished his
green 1968 Pontiac GTO.
In addition to his loving wife, Tom is survived by his children Cynthia (Laryn) Shumaker,
Christine (James) Thomas, and Gerald Thomas II (Nicole) Shumaker; grandchildren Jack,
Sydney, Dyson, and Joselyn; and siblings Dennis (Carol) Shumaker, Donald (Barbara)
Shumaker, Jacqueline (Tirone) David, and Richard Shumaker.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Shumaker.
VISITATION will be held on MONDAY, April 1st, from 4pm – 7pm at JARDINE FUNERAL
HOME, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will take place
on TUESDAY, April 2nd at 10am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 16271 Pearl Road,
Strongsville. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Avon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
