The 1st time I met George I was nine years old and he was 13 years old. John Antonio (who lived across from the Rigo's on Boundary Lane in Parma) and I were shooting our slingshots. When John Antonio decided, stupidly, to aim at the front picture window of the Rigo,s home. Well, in reality, it was the only thing John Antonio's aimed shot ever hit-bulls eye. Within 5 seconds, George came flying out the front door (with cigarette dangling between his lips) and began chasing us while barking words I had never heard before. He never caught us that day, fortunately, after all the Rigo Twins had a reputation. Later on in life, while having a few drinks at Walt's in Parma Hts., George and I started talking and became good friends. Of course he did not remember the front window incident but he did remember Renee Antonio (who didn't). Over the years we took different paths, which I now regret. The times I had with George, Bob and Fred Hague will remain with me until I travel the "final road" as George just did. Barron's (sp?), Walt's (Gary and Leslie), the Rampant Lion, Chiam's, Stefano's, the Circus, and of course Big George's house on Ridgewood Drive. George and Bob both fearless, had an interesting way of showing their love for each other. But, at the end of the day, they had each other's back and fortunately mine as well. Both George and Bob were there when you needed them. Although I have not seen George in quite a while, I will always remember him and I will say a prayer for him. My sincerest condolences to Bob and Jackie.
