George K. Gillmeister's Obituary
George K. Gillmeister, age 78, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, and his loss leaves a deep hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
George was married to his beloved wife, Nancy Gillmeister (née Pochepan), for 52 wonderful years. Together they built a strong, loving family and shared a life full of memories, laughter, and deep devotion.
He was a proud father to Jennifer Martinez (Joshua) and Jill Radney (Keith), and the adored grandfather of Mya McMillan, Alexa and Madison Martinez, Haley, and Logan Radney. His family meant everything to him. He was the kind of dad and grandpa who showed up for every moment, big or small—always with love, support, and a big heart.
George was the brother of Elizabeth and Paul, and the son of the late Edwald and Alfreda Gillmeister. He bravely served his country as a Vietnam veteran and carried that same strength and loyalty throughout his life.
He loved the outdoors and found true joy in nature. George took great pride in his landscaping, always working hard to make everything beautiful. His hands were rarely still—he was a doer, a builder, a helper. He believed in hard work and in taking care of what mattered most.
Above all, George was known for his kind heart. He had a quiet strength and a gentle spirit. He was a role model to many—showing by example what it meant to live with honesty, humility, and love. His legacy is one of dedication to family, love for the simple things in life, and a heart full of gold.
