The Orchestration of Genny
In writing a book on music over the past 3 years, I used a word eleven times that Genny taught me when I was growing up. Each time, I would pause, smile, and say, "Thank you Mrs. Jerson." The word is "orchestration." Her unlikely word choice was a surprise to me, on a Cleveland afternoon in the '70s, as she described a rock and roll record. She listened deeply and heard sweetness that others may have missed. This trait was extended to how she treated people she cared about, connected with others, and orchestrated our lives.
Genny listened deeply to me, was always encouraging, and showed pride too, which I appreciated and needed.
Our lives have been truly enriched through the orchestration of Genny.
