I have so many cherished memories of my beloved stepsister. My favorite that I love to share is one that started my journey as a fellow believer . I think it was the sumner of '82 and we were going to go to an away Christian camp. We would be staying in tents and so had to buy sleeping bags. Mine was a satiny pine green one and very slippery. I remember packing the night before and needing a garbage bag to put it in. I went to the kitchen to get one and as they were in a cupboard above the stove , getting a chair to stand on. I put my right hand down on the stove to brace myself and then a second later howled in pain after realizing it was still hot. It wAs one of those flat stoves where the burners turn red when hot. Well it must've just been used but I didn't know . I remember being sad that I would not be able to go now and falling asleep with a bag of ice on my hand I think my stepmom was worried it would leak at night but I was scared to take it off. When I woke up in the morning I took the bag ( of now water ) off my hand to access the damage and found it was completely healed . I was so amazed I ran to tell Gabi and she said " I prayed for you " . Well being that I was still young in the faith that had quite an impact on me . At first I didn't really know what to think . It was kind of odd but once it sank in and I realized the power behind her prayer I was in awe . And so that became my miracle and thus started my journey to becoming a true Christian . I will forever be thankful to her for that and being such a fun sister and great role model and inspirational woman of faith. Oh and I was so impressed with how she taught herself to play guitar and how she got picked to sing at church . I love you Gabi now and forever .
