Born March 8, 1928, Elmer was the son of John & Mary Bodnar. Elmer married his beloved wife of 62 years, Ethel (Pietsch), who predeceased him. Together, they raised a loving family, with their children Donna, Thomas (Susan), and the late Patricia, who he always held dear in his heart. He was a proud grandfather to Thomas and Michelle, whose accomplishments and adventures brought him immense joy. Elmer was a cherished brother to John, Michael, William, and Mary Rasch and was a beloved uncle to many.
Professionally, Elmer was known for his precision and dedication as a printer at the Cleveland Press Newspaper. His work was not just a job but a craft that he honed over the years, contributing to the world of print with his skill and attention to detail.
Elmer's love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for raising Springer Spaniels, a breed he admired for their loyalty and spirit. Elmer was an avid fisherman, finding solace and excitement in the sport on his many fishing trips along Lake Erie and Canada. He also enjoyed golfing, a hobby that allowed him to spend time outdoors and challenge himself in new ways.
