Eileen J. Yalonis' Obituary
Eileen J. Yalonis (nee Gondos), 92, passed away February 13, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert J. Yalonis for 50 years and loving mother of Kathleen Yalonis Renzi (Mario), Christopher Yalonis and the late Dianne Belia (Terry). Eileen, daughter of the late John and Veronica Gondos, was born, raised and resided in Cleveland and the West side her whole life. Her sister, the late Jacquelyn Wilkins, was her best friend. Her grandchildren, Matthew Belia, Colton Yalonis and Cheylin Yalonis, were a source of joy for her, especially when they learned to be “card sharks” from her.
Her life was a model of the expression that “a good life is to love and to be loved”. Eileen reigned over her family’s Strongsville home for 57 years, where she welcomed scores of kids and family gatherings, always with a smile, good food, lively music, and fun. Music fed her soul, especially musicals, swing, and jazz. She would attend as many music performances as she could with her husband, Al, and later after Al’s passing, with Bob Morgan, her companion of 20 years. Well traveled, she visited 5 continents, in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, when it was uncommon to do for stay at home Mom’s. Her friends and family will remember always how she made them feel, loved and supported unconditionally. We’ll miss you, Mom.
