Edward J. Lech's Obituary
Edward J. Lech, 85, of Strongsville, Ohio, and formerly of Blacksburg, Virginia and Oak Park, Illinois, passed away on May 23, 2021, after a brief hospitalization. Beloved husband and best friend of Judith Lech for 59 devoted years; loving father of Lisa (Gregory) McDonald, Edward (Jennifer) Lech, and Lauren (William) Garrison; proud grandfather to Jessica, Bridget and Kevin McDonald, Ryan and Katharine Lech, and Grace, Adam, and Blake Garrison; fond uncle and friend to many.
Preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Stanley Lech, and brother, Ronald Lech.
Edward was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and was a graduate of Lane Tech High School and attended the Illinois Institute of Technology. He enjoyed his thirty-three year career at Western Electric / AT&T, and equally enjoyed thirty-one years of retirement spent gardening, completing travels to all 50 states, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his “projects,” expert handyman skills, and willingness to help others.
Interment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Justice, Illinois, following a private family service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The American Heart Association at:
