Judi, Traci, Jeff, and family, We share your grief.
Dwayne wasnâ?TMt just my brother, he was much more. He was my playmate, my company, and my best friend, We grew up in the country with few children living nearby. We had wonderful Grandparents though, just a short walk away.We made mud pies and rock houses together, looked for crayfish and frogs in the creek not far from the house. We found and picked wild berries together for mama to bake pies. We had so much freedom to explore nature.
When Dwayne was just eight years old, he was hit by a drunken driver, and lost his leg. I was so afraid Iâ?TMd lost him. During his recuperation I spent the days by his bedside at the Danville hospital. He read comic books and I drank his ginger ale. My nights were spent with Aunt Dot.
As the years passed, we left our Virginia home, both married and raised families of our own. I moved to Wisconsin, he to Michigan. It took just a phone call and weâ?TMd both be right back in Virginia.
Dwayne Iâ?TMll miss you so, but will always have our shared memories.
