Marilyn Robinson
I wish I was there to hug Jody, my niece. I can still remember her as my flower girl in my wedding to her uncle, Kenny in 1967. And saw her later, after she grew up to be a beautiful, young woman.
I can remember Don's greeting every time he saw me, "Hi, you ole son of a #***". No matter where or when, no matter who was around, it was always the same. After I got over the shock, I grew to understand this was his sincere form of affection for his sister-in-law. I laughed at many a "Don" joke and how much he liked to play natural "7's" in poker.
I also painted a few pictures and lettering on his racing cars early on.
I know wherever he is, he's still telling those same ole' jokes, drinking his favorite drinks
while playing poker in the beyond.
Love to you, Jody.
