Denise Meyer's Obituary
Denise Meyer was born on September 10th, 1963 in Cleveland Ohio to Paul Saunders and Loretta (nee Danko). She died on December 21st, 2025. Denise grew up in Brook Park Ohio and graduated from Berea Highschool where she fell in love with drum corps. She performed with the Buckeye State Cabellaros and Northernlights drum corps. Denise had a passion for calligraphy and crosswords. Later on she would get a tech degree and work in various administration roles throughout her life. She enjoyed her time living in Seward Alaska and Tacoma Washington, before moving back home to Ohio.
Denise loved gardening- she was known for her beautiful flower arrangements and landscaping skills. You could find her elbow deep in the soil- she took every opportunity to grow as many plants as possible. The inside of her house looked like an arboretum with snake plants, succulents, cacti, and her prized 40 year old Dracaena tree. She also had a deep love for animals, rescuing squirrels and raising reptiles. She loved to bake. Denise’s apple pie was treated as currency. You could find her downstairs jamming to her 80s music on her stereo or with her kids singing songs in the car. If there was any type of costume event, you bet Denise was there, dressed in a wacky homemade costume. Denise was incredibly funny, and didn’t mind if the joke was on her.
Denise passed her love of plants to her eldest child, Meg, who now works as a biologist in environmental consulting. Denise also inspired her youngest, Moira, who loves to cook at work, and when she has time, bakes a mean raspberry kolache. Denise was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta. She is survived by her two children Meg and Moira, father Paul (Linda), sister Jenn (John), niece Kaylee and nephew Aidan, and in-laws Jack and Yolanda, as well as her many cousins, many friends, Baby (cat), and Nutmeg (crested gecko).
