David Widows' Obituary
David Widows, passed away on April 27, 2026, at the age of 72. He was born on August 2, 1953, in Cleveland, Ohio, and lived a life marked by devotion, hard work, and a deep love for the people and places that mattered most to him.
David spent 49 years working for Ford as a toolmaker, a career he took great pride in and one that reflected his strong work ethic and steady character. He truly loved his job and would have worked there forever if he could. His years at Ford were not just a job to him, but a meaningful part of his life, and he was respected for the dedication and skill he brought to his work each day.
Above all else, David was a family man. He adored his family his beloved wife of 40 years, Veronica, and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. He is survived by his children, Michael Widow, Sarah Burke and her husband Pat, as well as his step-children, Shawn, and Jimmy and his companion Aggie. He also leaves behind his brothers, Jim and Paul, along with his beloved grandchildren, Jocellyn, Kaleigh, Benjamin, Alaina, and Conner, and his great-grandchild, Daxton. David was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Eleanor Widows, whose memory remained close to his heart throughout his life.
David found joy in the simple and beautiful things in life. He loved being outdoors and spent many happy hours fishing, hunting, and traveling. He had a special appreciation for nature and enjoyed photographing animals and landscapes, capturing moments of quiet beauty wherever he went. He even wrote a novel titled Two Toned Idiot, a reflection of the unique spirit and personality that those who knew him will always remember.
Those who knew David would describe him as kind, loving, and thoughtful. He was a man with a kind heart. He carried himself with warmth and sincerity, and his presence brought comfort and steadiness to those around him. He had a way of making people feel valued, and his gentle nature left a lasting impression on family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
David’s life was one of loyalty, love, and quiet strength. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his long and faithful career, his love of the outdoors, and the many ways he shared his kindness with others. Though he will be deeply missed, the memory of his generous heart, his thoughtful spirit, and the love he gave so freely will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
David's family will greet friends from 5 - 7 PM on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Road. A graveside service will take place at 11 AM on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Crow Corner Cemetery.
