David R. Nicastro's Obituary
David R. Nicastro, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on October 4, 2025, in Strongsville, Ohio. Born on May 29, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, Dave was the son of the late Alfred and Lucille Nicastro and the brother of the late Loretta, Bob, and Bill. Dave's journey through life was marked by his kindness, a warm sense of humor, and a deep love for his family.
Dave was a proud graduate of Parma Senior High School in 1967, and he then honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. Dave furthered his education by earning an associate's degree from Cuyahoga Community College.
Dave's heart belonged to his family. He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Cheryl Nicastro, his lifelong love and best friend. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, music, and cherished memories. He was a loving father to Paul and Heather, showing them the importance of family and the joy of life's simple pleasures. His role as a cherished grandfather to Vinnie Nicastro was one he embraced with enthusiasm. His special bond with Vinnie was mutually shared and was evident to all that saw them together.
Dave's laid-back demeanor and great sense of humor were a source of comfort and joy to all who knew him. His love for classic rock music was more than a hobby; it was a passion that he and Cheryl enjoyed together, attending numerous concerts and immersing themselves in the vibrant songs of the era, even at home. Their appreciation for the arts extended to Broadway shows and the Cleveland Orchestra, where they experienced the magic of live performances hand in hand.
Dave relished the opportunity to travel with his loved ones, exploring new places and trying new things. Simply spending time together was his most favorite aspect. Dave and Cheryl's love for dogs was another facet of their life together, caring for several beloved pets over the years. Their home was always filled with the warmth and companionship that only these furry family members could provide.
David R. Nicastro's legacy is one of love, laughter, and music.
