I’m sorry I couldn’t attend Dave’s celebration of life today. Dave was my barber all my life except for the 10 years I was away from Cleveland. Dave was a great man with a great personality and stories. RIP Dave.

Dave has been my barber since the Sprague Rd shop and I followed him to the Bagley Rd shop and even to the Berea Barber Shop when he worked on Wednesdays. Some of my best memories were the Christmas parties at the Bagley Rd shop. We always talked about our families and I would tell jokes to him. My favorite memory of him was when he asked how I want my hair cut I would tell him to add more to the top. He would reply, I am a barber not a magician!
Dave invited me to go to Vermont back in the early 70’s. Believe we stayed with an aunt of his in Burlington. It was my first ski trip something I still enjoy today. His car broke down on the way home and we slept in it along side the road. Thanks Dave for teaching me to ski. We also took a physical to join the army on the “buddy plan”. Thank God for his bad knees or we would have probably joined.
I remember Dave very fondly. He asked me to my 10th grade prom and I accepted. We hung around with many friends over the years …. Rest in peace Nancy Hughes Hauglie.
I just realized that I have a previous commitment this Sunday that I must attend…
I really wanted to be at Dave’s event…we spent so many years together…
My sincere condolences go out to Dave’s whole family…I will miss him…

My deepest sympathy to Dave's family. He was my student at Strongsville High early in my teaching career and, yes, he cut my hair a few times. Louis Duchez.
