David John Burnett was born January 14, 1944, in Berea, Ohio, the son of Laurence and Frances Martin Burnett. He was raised on the family greenhouse and farm in Columbia Station and graduated from Columbia High School. He married Read Obituary
David was my first boyfriend at age 16. I also got to reunite with him at my 50th class reunion. ( just talk reunite! I loved knowing his mom, dad and sister and their beautiful property in Columbia Station. I grew up in Berea.
A class mate recently told me about Dave's passing. RIP Dave, you will always be special to me

I am truly sorry for your loss. Dave and I were colleagues at Northwood Jr. High. He was very entertaining with his wry sense of humor and numerous jokes. He was also a dedicated teacher and a good human being. I enjoyed many conversations with him as a friend and fellow teacher. He loved life and loved all of you.
I didn't know David. I was a friend of his daughter, Lauri. I am so very, very sorry about your loss. So terrible to lose them both so close together this way. My heart goes out to you all.
Dave was part of my life for pretty much forever. We started in school in Kindergarten in Columbia Town Hall. Dave was not always in my elementary school classes but was a part of my life as we got older. We were friends throughout high school, both graduated from Kent and did our student teaching at the same time. Later, we were both active in Columbia Historical Society. He was always engaging and interested in what was going on. May God bless him with peace and tranquility forever. My prayers are with the whole family, but especially with his loving wife and sister. I want to thank my brother for walking me down the aisle at my wedding in 1970. Our father, Laurence, had passed away in 1966 and David escorted me to the altar wearing a tuxedo he said he would never wear. I love you David. You will always be my favorite brother. Dianne
A tremendous person who lived the Golden Rule. I was fortunate to have known Dave through the Berea Historical Society. Rest in peace David. Your suffering has ended and the Good Lord welcomes you home.
Dave was our daughter’s social studies teacher in elementary school. He connected me to his loving family and I enjoyed hearing of their travels, enjoying his growing family and pride in their homestead! So sad to lose his daughter a short time again, but as the nurturing dad, he would make sure she was not alone. Such a legacy!
