David L. Bell's Obituary
David L. Bell, Age 80, of West Salem OH, passed away peacefully on February 15. Born June 11, 1939 to Frances and Lawrence Bell, David attended Strongsville HS and Heidelberg College, followed by four years of service in the U.S. Air Force. Upon his honorary discharge, he moved to Seattle where he began a career devoted to studying ice dynamics, spending months at a time at research facilities at both poles. David loved all things outdoors, especially hiking, camping, canoeing – building his own canoe! – biking and flying. He spent time in Colorado Springs (teaching gliding) and Vermont, eventually coming back home to NE Ohio to his small but loving extended family, and friends at Cinnamon Lake and Kingston. He was recently predeceased by his sister, Linda Cull (Jim), and is survived by his sister Nancy Rainone (John), niece Kerry Sheppard (Michael) and nephew Scott Mehalko (Candace) and their crew: Riley (Clinton), Noah, Taylor, Kristen, Caitlyn & Evan. David also leaves a legacy of friendships from his travels and work around the globe. The family will hold a private ceremony at a future date. www.jardinefh.com
