Daniel J. Sedlak's Obituary
Daniel J Sedlak, Sr., passed away peacefully and entered into God’s Kingdom on July 16, 2023, surrounded by family. He was 87.
For the last several years Daniel enjoyed his retirement from the Sheetmetal Workers Union, Local 33.
Daniel met his wife to be when he was just 17 years old. They kept in touch when he was drafted into the army in 1959 and following his honorable discharge in 1961, proposed, and they married in April of 1962. They remained together until her death in 2009.
Following her death, Dan spent his time at their home working in his yard, growing flowers, tending a small garden, watching old movies and spending time with his family.
Daniel (Dan) was born March 21, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio, the youngest of eight children to parents Michael and Mary Sedlak. Dan was proud of his Freemason fraternity where he was a member for 50 years and attained his 32-degree status.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sister and his wife, Carol (Reust) and survived by his children, Daniel Sedlak, Jr., (Kim), Kevin Sedlak, Robyn Sedlak, Melanie Lloyd (Ronald), four grandchildren, Stephanie Sedlak (Abe Woods), Shannon Lloyd, Jacob Lloyd, Julia Vana, and his great grandchild, Diana Woods. Daniel was uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend visitation at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Rd. In Strongsville on Thursday, July 20, 2023, from 3-7 pm. Service will be held at St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church, 16721 Pearl Rd, Strongsville on Friday, July 21st at 10:00 am followed by burial at Woodvale Cemetery, 7535 Engle Rd, Middleburg Hts.
A special and heartfelt thank you to Shurmer Place Memory Assisted Living in Strongsville where Daniel spent his final days in their care.
