I had talked to Danny a few months ago when you guys were leaving Florida and he gave me the score on his condition. I knew he wouldn't be long........I tried to reach him a couple times afterwards and got no reply and it wasn't hard to figure out he was declining.
Danny had a good life. He certainly had a wife and children, family, an older brother and younger brother who loved him dearly and Lord knows how many friends, fans and contemporaries. who held him in high regard........
Danny was a Cool Head. I was onstage with this guy a LOT and will always see that smile. The first thing I think about when I see Danny in my mind is that smile......He got a kick out of the undisciplined nature of what I did....He had a Rebel Spirit........He was always a Cool Dude.......Danny was just Cool.
And a rarity................. A genuine professional musician. NO easy task and VERY few make the cut. Even at a local level it's almost impossible to do....
He was talented, smart , and a real part of Cleveland music history. I never saw Danny Morris step on anyone.......He was also a boxer and a fighter in all the best ways....Now he can lay the gloves down and wait for the rest of the band to arrive at the new gig.....Until then, there's sure gonna be a big hole on Stage Left ..................
Thanks, Danny. I'm glad you were part of the fabric, movie and soundtrack of my life. Much Peace and Love to you!
