Daniel J. Druso "Dapper Dan"'s Obituary
Daniel J. Druso - “Dapper Dan”, age 78, of Strongsville, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025 after 3 hard fought battles with cancer. A beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Dan was known for his vibrant personality, generous spirit, positivity, and nicknames for all.
Dan was born December 10, 1946 in Bedford, OH. He was a proud member of the Bedford HS class of 1964, still keeping in touch with many lifelong friends. He was a proud father to Dan (Keri), Michelle (Tony), Nick, and Chris, and a doting grandfather to Evan, Owen, Elizabeth, Griffin, and Oliver. He was the brother of Jeanne (Patrick), David, Michael, and Louis. Dan was predeceased by his loving parents, John and Rita (Schwartz) Druso.
Dan’s love for life was reflected in everything he did. He was creative, resilient, and an entrepreneur to the core. As the proud owner of Dapper Dan’s since 1992, he created a home away from home for many, treating his customers and barmaids as family. His bar was not just a business; it was a place where friendships were made, laughter was abundant, and everyone was welcome.
Dan was an avid Cleveland sports fan and could always be found cheering on his teams, win or lose. He had a deep love for traveling, the beach, his cabin, fishing, and horseracing.
Dan’s warmth, kindness, tenacity, and generosity will be missed by all who knew him. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of many.
A celebration of his life will be held at Jardine Funeral Home (Strongsville) on Thursday, February 6, 2025 with visitation from 3-7pm and a memorial service to follow at 7pm. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization that was close to Dan’s heart, or SW Hospice Fund (18659 Drake Rd., Strongsville, OH 44136) who took great care of him in his final days.
