Cyril Joseph Pavka's Obituary
Cyril Joseph Pavka, 71, of Strongsville, OH, passed away on Saturday May 13th, 2023.
He was born on October 3rd, 1951 to the late Andrew and Rose (nee Pastirik) Pavka in Cleveland, Ohio.
He is survived by his dear wife of 40 years, Bridget (Baylon) Pavka; children Paul and Lauren Pavka; siblings Andrew Pavka, James (Rita) Pavka, Sandra (Roland) McPike, and Rosemary (Ron) Lestock; many nieces and nephews, his lifelong friends, and grand-dog, Penny. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother John Pavka and sister-in-law Ann Pavka.
Cyril graduated from Borromeo Seminary High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Borromeo as well. He met his wife selling encyclopedias and spent the rest of his career as a Recruiter for Information Technology and Engineering. He loved what he did so much he convinced his daughter Lauren to follow in his footsteps.
Cyril was a devout Catholic and served as a Lector at St. Joseph Catholic Church for over 30 years. As a former athlete he was passionate about coaching his children’s baseball and basketball teams, and was an avid Guardians, Browns, and Cavs fan. He enjoyed the outdoors, working in his garden, and playing games and especially cards with family and friends. His light-heartedness, playful approach to life, and enthusiasm for ‘the little things’ will be missed.
VISITATION will be held on FRIDAY, May 19th from 10:30am – 11:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12700 Pearl Road, Strongsville. A MEMORIAL service will begin promptly at 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MPN Research Foundation or St Joseph Church, in Strongsville.
