Chuck Hoban's Obituary
Charles (Chuck) Hoban, 70, was surrounded by his wife, daughter and son, when he went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2017 at The Grand of Dublin, after a courageous battle with cancer & resulting complications from hip surgery. Chuck was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Eastlake North high school, where he was a standout in basketball, track, baseball and football. At the age of 20, he enlisted and served in the United States Navy from 1966-1970. Those who remember Chuck remember him as a golf enthusiast, sports fanatic, quick with a joke (even if you heard it many times before) and how he would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He was always on the go; vacations and travel were a big part of his life. He had a big heart and was described by many as "a big teddy bear." He had an immense amount of love for his entire family, but especially his 4 grandkids, who brought him SO much joy and laughter. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents John & Esther Hoban and brother Jack. He is survived by his strong, loving and faithful wife of 45 years, Marilyn (nee Williams); children Kelly DiCarro (Cory), Mike (Jessica); his grandkids Brayden, Natalie, Noah and Maddox; siblings Judy Thompson (Gene), Jan Sternot (Bob), Dick Hoban, Bob Hoban (Vanessa); and loved by many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family will welcome friends for Visitation on THURSDAY, February 2, 2017, 4-8pm at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Rd, Strongsville, OH 44136. Memorial Service will be held FRIDAY, February 3rd, 12PM at Jardine’s. Military burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, OH 44270 at 2:30PM. Memorial contributions may be made in Chuck’s memory to a charity of your choosing.
