Cheryl Bruyere's Obituary
Born in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Ann and Edward Zalar, Cheryl A. Bruyere was an incredibly radiant light in this world. Everyone who had ever met her would recognize this immediately. Lucky are those who knew her, and even luckier are those close to her. Cheryl passed away on January 27, 2023, and in her 76 years, she became so many things. She was a loving mother to Craig (Melissa) Korecky, Richard (Carol), John (Kathy), Mark (Jen), Patty Bernhard, and Peggy (Michael) Rowe. Loyal and caring sister to Edward (Mickie), and Deborah (Jim) Larsen. Doting and fun-loving grandmother to Elise, Ethan, Rylee, Brandy, Rick, Caryn, John Michael, Emily, Matthew, Daniel, Mickey, Lillie, Olivia, Ian, Andrew, Ryan, Rebecca, Connor, Jake, Danielle, Maggie, and Nick. Great-grandmother to Nina and Nolan. Cheryl was an aunt to many, a friend to all, but best friend to Janet Hunter.
Of all of the amazing things that Cheryl was, she cherished being a wife to husband of 27 years, Richard (Dick) Bruyere, most of all. To witness the one-of-a kind love that they had for each other was special. Cheryl and Dick taught so many the meaning of true love and how important it is to not only be partners, but also best friends. The bond that they shared is unbreakable and an example of what to strive for.
Cheryl will always be remembered by her love of life. She looked at the world as an endless playground of new experiences to be had. She loved to travel and whether it was an exotic beach far away from home, or the rocky shores of Put-In-Bay right here in Ohio, she made it an adventure. No matter where she went, she would bring with her a sense of humor that would fill a room with laughter. Cheryl was, without a doubt, the life of any party, and her love of singing and dancing brought so much energy and life to every occasion. She has touched the lives of so many and left behind so much to be inspired by.
