Catherine Lauffer's Obituary
Catherine Lauffer (nee Poland) age 91, beloved wife of the late Les; loving mother of Susan Favorite (Pete) and Jim (Mary); dear grandmother of Jonathan and Michael; sister of Patrick Poland and the late Berniece Smey, Keith Eldridge, Kenneth Eldridge, and Margaret Eldridge. Retired 30 year employee of the Plain Dealer. Former volunteer with Seamen's Services. Energetic and fiercely independent, Catherine was truly one-of-a-kind. A proud Irishwoman, voracious reader, collector of recipes, off-key singer, Notre Dame College aquasizer, and avid Bridge player. Her life was full and well-lived right up to the moment she let go of our hands and reached out to join her husband, parents, brothers and sisters. She won the bid, took all 13 tricks, and grand slammed her way into Heaven. Private family services were held.
